Bahria Town Lahore is a city within the city: wide boulevards, numbered sectors, its own commercial areas and two landmarks you can see from a distance, the Grand Jamia Mosque and the Eiffel Tower replica. It sits on the south-western edge of Lahore, which makes it calm to live in and close to the motorways, but a long drive from Cantt, Gulberg and the airport.

The commute into the city

Most Bahria Town residents head into the city on Canal Road, Multan Road or the Ring Road, depending on where they are going. In normal traffic, Kalma Chowk is about 45 minutes away and the airport about 55. In the morning and evening peaks, the stretch around Thokar Niaz Baig adds time.

If you commute every day, a monthly car rental is usually the most economical way to have a car on hand. With a driver, the commute becomes time you can use.

Visiting the Grand Jamia Mosque and the Eiffel Tower

Bahria Town gets a lot of visitors, especially on weekend evenings when the mosque and the boulevard are lit up. A car with a driver works well for families from other cities: you see the mosque, stop at the Eiffel Tower replica and have dinner in one of the commercial areas without worrying about parking or directions.

Weddings and events

Bahria Town has its own marquees and halls, and guests usually come from all over Lahore. A Toyota Hiace or a coaster that shuttles guests between the city and the venue saves everyone the long drive at night. For the couple, see our wedding car rental.

A good base for road trips

Being close to Thokar Niaz Baig puts you on the M-2 within about 25 minutes, so trips to Islamabad and the north start well. The M-3 towards Multan is nearby too, and Nankana Sahib is an easy day out.

Local tips from our drivers

  • Gate details ready: security at the entrances asks where you are going. Having the sector, block and house number ready keeps things moving.
  • Leave early for flights: the airport is on the opposite side of Lahore. Do not cut it fine.
  • Thokar at peak hours: the roads around Thokar Niaz Baig are slowest at school and office times.
  • Fog in winter: December and January mornings on the outskirts can be foggy, so drive slowly and keep the lights on.
