Getting around Lahore Cantt

Cantt runs differently from the rest of Lahore. The roads are wider and better kept, there is more greenery, and traffic moves faster between the signals. The trade-off is security: several roads have checkpoints, some colonies only open certain gates, and roads can close at short notice for official movement or events at Fortress Stadium.

A local driver handles this without fuss: the right gate, the quickest way round when a road is closed, and where to wait at CMH without blocking anyone. If you drive yourself, keep your CNIC and the car papers in the glove box. You will be asked for them sooner or later.

Airport runs

Allama Iqbal International Airport sits right on the eastern edge of Cantt. From most addresses it is about 20 minutes in normal traffic, which makes Cantt the easiest part of Lahore for a 4 am departure or a late night arrival. Share your flight number and we time the pickup to it, so you are not left waiting outside arrivals.

Hospital visits at CMH

Families from outside Lahore often need a car for several days while someone is being treated at CMH. A car with a driver on a daily booking means drop-offs at the right block, a driver who waits, and no parking stress. For longer treatments, a monthly car rental is usually cheaper per day.

Trains at Lahore Cantt station

Some intercity trains also stop at Lahore Cantt railway station, which is much closer to most Cantt addresses than the main Lahore Railway Station. If you are arriving at Cantt station, tell us the train name and we meet you outside with room for your luggage.

Weddings and functions

Cantt and nearby DHA have plenty of marquees, clubs and banquet halls, and wedding season brings back-to-back functions. Book the wedding car early, especially for weekend functions in the winter wedding season. Punjab’s marquee timings are enforced, so build the car’s schedule backwards from your hall’s closing time.

Local tips from our drivers

• School and office peaks: Sarwar Road, Tufail Road and the roads around Fortress slow down roughly 7:30 to 8:30 am and again in the early afternoon when schools let out.
• Saddar in the evening: parking around Saddar Bazaar fills up after Maghrib. With a driver, you get dropped at the shop and picked up at the corner.
• Fortress Stadium events: exhibitions, concerts and expos at Fortress can jam the surrounding roads. Tell us if your trip overlaps an event and we plan the route around it.
• Winter fog and smog: December and January mornings can bring thick fog on the Ring Road and the motorways. For early outstation departures, build in extra time.

Heading out of Lahore

Cantt is well placed for road trips. The Ring Road takes you to the M-2 for Lahore to Islamabad and the north, to the M-11 for Sialkot, and the GT Road runs east to the Wagah Border in about 40 minutes.
