Who self drive suits
- People who know Lahore and want privacy. Family errands, a weekend with the in-laws, late evenings without a driver waiting outside.
- Overseas Pakistanis home for a few weeks. Keep one car for the whole stay at a weekly or monthly price, and drive to family in Sialkot or Gujranwala when you need to.
- Your own car is in the workshop. A stand-in for a few days after an accident or during a long repair.
- Professionals between cars. Waiting for a new car delivery, or just transferred to Lahore and not ready to buy.
If you are not confident in Lahore traffic, or you are visiting from abroad on a foreign licence, a car with driver is often the easier choice, and not much more expensive for a short stay.
Verify first, drive sooner
Send clear photos of your CNIC and driving licence on WhatsApp when you book. We check them before the day, so handover takes minutes instead of an hour. Bring the originals with you: we look at them at handover and return them straight away.
Handover in Lahore Cantt
We hand over self drive cars at our office in Lahore Cantt, or at your address in Lahore on request. At handover we:
- Walk around the car with you and take photos or a short video of every panel, the wheels and the interior.
- Note the fuel level and the odometer reading on the agreement.
- Show you the spare tyre, the jack and the papers in the glovebox.
- Collect the refundable deposit and both sign the agreement.
The same check happens in reverse when you return the car. Because both sides recorded the condition at the start, there is nothing to argue about at the end.
The rules, in plain words
- Kilometres. Each car has a daily allowance, listed below. Long trips use it up quickly: a round trip from Lahore Cantt to Islamabad is around 750 km.
- Fuel. Same level back as you received.
- Area. Lahore and its suburbs. Anything further needs written approval before you leave.
- Who drives. Only the person named on the agreement, or an extra driver we have added with their own CNIC and licence.
- What the car is not for. Ride hailing or delivery work, driving lessons, racing, towing, or carrying goods for business.
- No smoking inside the car.

Safe City cameras and e-challans
Lahore’s Safe City cameras record signal and lane violations at many junctions, and speed on some roads. An e-challan is issued to the car’s registration, not to you, and it can take days to appear. That is why we check the e-challan record after every self drive return before we refund the deposit.
A few habits keep you clear: stop behind the white line at signals, do not cross into the opposite lane to skip a queue, keep your seatbelt on, and watch the speed signs on the Ring Road, Canal Road and the motorway links. On the M-2 and other motorways, the Motorway Police issue tickets on the spot, and those are paid by the driver at the time.
Breakdowns, accidents and damage
If anything happens, stop somewhere safe and call us first. For injuries call Rescue 1122, for the police call 15, and on a motorway the Motorway Police helpline is 130. Take photos of the scene and the other vehicle. Please do not let a roadside workshop repair the car: we arrange the repair, and the agreement explains how damage is assessed and what comes from the deposit.

Send your documents
Photos of your CNIC and driving licence on WhatsApp. We verify them before the day so handover is quick.
Stop 2: Step 2
Walk around the car
Handover at our Lahore Cantt office, or at your address in Lahore on request. We photograph the car together and note the fuel level and the odometer.
Stop 3: Step 3
Deposit and agreement
Pay the refundable deposit shown for your car and sign a short agreement with the km allowance and return time.
Stop 4: Step 4
Drive
Stay inside Lahore unless we have approved an outstation trip. Call us any time if the car needs attention.
Stop 5: Step 5
Return and refund
Same fuel level, same condition. The deposit comes back within 7 days, after the Safe City e-challan check.

What documents do I need for a self drive car in Lahore?
Your original CNIC and a valid driving licence. Overseas Pakistanis can use a NICOP or passport with a valid licence. Foreign visitors need a passport with a valid visa, plus their home licence and an international driving permit. Depending on the car and the duration, we may also ask for a recent utility bill or a local reference.
How much is the security deposit?
It depends on the car and is listed in the rate table on this page. We collect it at handover in cash or by bank transfer, and refund it within 7 days of return, once the car has been checked and the Safe City e-challan record is clear.
What happens if a Safe City camera gives me an e-challan?
E-challans are issued to the car's registration and can show up several days after the trip. We check the record after your return. Any challan dated during your rental is paid from your deposit, and we send you a copy so you can see exactly what it was for.
Can I take a self drive car out of Lahore?
Yes, but only with our written approval, given before you leave. Tell us the destination and dates. Motorway trips to Islamabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot or Multan are the usual requests. For the northern areas we recommend a car with a driver who knows the mountain roads.
How does the km allowance work?
Each car has a daily allowance shown in the rate table, counted across the whole rental, so a quiet day balances a long one. Kilometres above the total allowance are billed at the per km rate in your agreement.
What is the minimum age for self drive?
You need to be at least 21 and hold a valid licence. For high value cars we may ask for more driving experience, or suggest a car with driver instead.
What is the fuel policy?
The rule is same level to same level, so you return the car with the fuel level noted at handover. If it comes back lower, the missing fuel is charged at the current pump price.
